The model is not sure: a 43% chance that this was a significant fire. Around the detections: 82% forest, shrubs and grass, 18% farmland.

Chance it was a significant fire: 43%

The estimate comes from a model trained on past fires in Bulgaria. It looks at a fire's first 24 hours: the land, the season and the detections.

Burned area: 104 ha; From Sentinel-2 images of 28 Oct and 31 Oct: the ground whose vegetation burned in between. An estimate, with error.
Extent: 50 ha; The area around the detections: a rough estimate, usually larger than what burned.

EFFIS has not mapped this fire. It maps mostly fires over 30 ha, and not every one of them.
