Each dot is a patch of about 400 m where a satellite detected heat. The solid patch at the end is the burned area by Sentinel-2.

The model is not sure: a 40% chance that this was a significant fire. Around the detections: 69% forest, shrubs and grass, 31% farmland.

Chance it was a significant fire: 40%

The estimate comes from a model trained on past fires in Bulgaria. It looks at a fire's first 24 hours: the land, the season and the detections.

First detected: 8 Sep 2019, 15:12
Last detected: 8 Sep 2019, 15:12
Duration: one pass
Detections: 3
Max. power: 45 MW
Burned area: 10 ha; From Sentinel-2 images of 8 Sep and 13 Sep: the ground whose vegetation burned in between. An estimate, with error.
Extent: 62 ha; The area around the detections: a rough estimate, usually larger than what burned.

EFFIS has not mapped this fire. It maps mostly fires over 30 ha, and not every one of them.
