Wildfire

The model gives a 78% chance that this was a significant fire. Around the detections: 91% forest, shrubs and grass, 9% farmland.

Chance it was a significant fire: 78%

The estimate comes from a model trained on past fires in Bulgaria. It looks at a fire's first 24 hours: the land, the season and the detections.

Burned area: 116 ha; From Sentinel-2 images of 1 Sep and 16 Sep: the ground whose vegetation burned in between. An estimate, with error.
Extent: 69 ha; The area around the detections: a rough estimate, usually larger than what burned.

EFFIS has not mapped this fire. It maps mostly fires over 30 ha, and not every one of them.
