Wildfire

The model gives a 61% chance that this was a significant fire. Around the detections: 60% forest, shrubs and grass, 39% farmland.

Chance it was a significant fire: 61%

The estimate comes from a model trained on past fires in Bulgaria. It looks at a fire's first 24 hours: the land, the season and the detections.

First detected: 1 Aug 2022, 03:10

Duration: 24 h

Max. power: 9 MW
Burned area: 161 ha; From Sentinel-2 images of 30 Jul and 4 Aug: the ground whose vegetation burned in between. An estimate, with error.
Extent: 96 ha; The area around the detections: a rough estimate, usually larger than what burned.

EFFIS has not mapped this fire. It maps mostly fires over 30 ha, and not every one of them.
