The model gives a 73% chance that this was a significant fire. Around the detections: 43% forest, shrubs and grass, 31% farmland.

Chance it was a significant fire: 73%

The estimate comes from a model trained on past fires in Bulgaria. It looks at a fire's first 24 hours: the land, the season and the detections.

Burned area: 679 ha; From Sentinel-2 images of 7 Feb and 19 Mar: the ground whose vegetation burned in between. An estimate, with error.
Extent: 365 ha; The area around the detections: a rough estimate, usually larger than what burned.

EFFIS has not mapped this fire. It maps mostly fires over 30 ha, and not every one of them.
